Yes, Swiss Diamond nonstick cookware, including CXD, is dishwasher safe, but we recommend hand washing. Dishwasher detergents and high-heat cycles can reduce nonstick performance over time.
Some detergents also leave a grey, powdery residue on an uncoated aluminium base. This is oxidation of the aluminium, and over time it can permanently discolour the base. To remove it:
- Use a paste of baking soda and water.
- Use an aluminium cleaner from the supermarket.
- Mix 1 litre of water with 3 tablespoons (45 mL) of lemon juice, cream of tartar or white vinegar. Bring it to the boil inside the cookware, then use the same solution on a sponge to clean the outside and base.
For everyday cleaning, wash by hand with a dish brush and hot, soapy water.
