If your pan looks or performs differently, one of these is the usual cause.
High heat. Nonstick cookware is designed for low to medium heat. High heat, or leaving an empty pan on the heat, can cause blistering, chipping or peeling.
Cutting in the pan. Knives, sharp utensils and stick blenders can scratch the coating. Move food to a board before cutting.
Oil build-up. Oil heated past its smoke point leaves a dark residue that makes food stick. Clean the pan thoroughly after each use. See Can I restore the nonstick coating of my pan?
Cleaning. Wash with a grease-fighting dish soap after each use, so oil and food residue don't build up.
